Choosing a Stone Wall Style

Leveling a slope for a flagstone terrace with a stone wall.

This residential client is from the Northern USA, moved South, and on a golf course with premier views.  He was so excited about this project, having stone walls reminding him of home.  Though the stone choice was a vernacular for the South.

Commercial Site: Gas Grill + Stone Vent

Gas grill at a commercial site, the landscape architect specked the location, shape, size & grill & stone.

However the venting needed, by the law of combustion, was not specked.

Our stone mason has been creating these custom stone drain covers for our projects for years.  Vented stone is not mortared & slides out easily by hand for maintenance issues.

Commercial Project: Out-of-State in State College, PA

This job in State College, PA was completed last summer.  Off campus housing for the local college.

Walkway to the Front Door: Brick Pavers

Awaiting another contractor to finish their work at our large commercial jobsite, previous post, we took on this residential job, below.  A front walk, and new driveway.

Original broken concrete path was removed, pieces placed in a sinkhole in the backyard.  Granite grit spread & framed.  Last few pieces of brick need precision cuts, below.

Ironically, these types of pathways 'seem' DIY !

Slightly higher in the middle, like the old Roman roads, and seams packed with more granite grit, the path will not wobble.

This client had already hired another contractor referred by a large big box hardware store.  Her initial deposit of $1500 gone with that contractor.  Her money & the guy never to be seen again.

Rolle Bolle in Atlanta at a Commercial Site

Rolle Bolle courts were begun yesterday at our commercial client.

Shaefer Heard Construction & Landscaping: Atlanta, GA Commercial Project 4-14

A commercial site in Atlanta, GA, this project was bid from a landscape architect's plans.

.

The scope of the plan included flat land, steep hillsides, stone, gravel, grading, irrigation, mulch, turf, trees, shrubs, rolle bolle courts, water feature, band stand, grilling bar. 

At the front of the building, above/below, is the amenity zone with gravel areas for tables/chairs, paved zone for dancing, mingling.
